Reuters reports that Oman is embarking on a year-long effort to restructure its pension and social protection systems as part of a slew of economic reforms under their new Sultan, Haitham bin Tariq al-Said.
The plans include establishing a Social Protection Fund, a Military and Security Units Pension Fund and a social security system for low-income Omanis.
